Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. (Psalm 34:8)
How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey. (Psalm 119:103)
It’s Tuesday, and I want to encourage you to be able to taste and see that the Lord is good. This requires that you take moments throughout your day to take refuge in Him – that is, being quiet in His presence and listening for the sound of His voice, so that you can know how sweet (eg. kind, generous, and merciful) His words are for you.
As you pray today, a song might come to your mind. If it does, then let it flow.
On my way to work yesterday, I said a short prayer. After that moment in time, I noticed that it followed with me singing in the car. It took me a moment for my mind to understand that the Holy Spirit was leading my spirit. When I finally caught on, I realized that the song that I was singing was actually an answer to my prayer.
After I got over my initial shock, I thanked God that He had been listening to me, being well aware of my thoughts, so I continued to sing, knowing that He does answer the prayers of those who He has made right with Him.
So today, be reminded of the Lord’s goodness to you, as you express your thoughts to Him. Let the Holy Spirit lead you, as your spirit engages. May you encounter His presence, tasting and seeing that He is good, for He has always been with you, bringing His reassurance to you, every step of the way. Amen.
