Seeking Comfort

seeking comfort

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

If you are seeking relief from your affliction or sorrow, may God comfort you in your distress. Let Him remind you of His goodness, soothe you with His love, and heal you in your pain. Give Him your weakness to make you strong, your fear to make you brave, and your sadness to give you joy.

Take care of yourself during this time, as He ministers His comfort to you. Remember to eat when you are hungry, rest when you feel tired, and go to sleep at your normal bedtime.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus,

Help those who are feeling overwhelmed to experience your comfort. Settle them with your lasting peace, reassure them of your continued presence, and help them to lean on your own understanding.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your intervention at this time for anyone who is feeling emotionally upset. Amen.
