What’s Your Heart’s Desire?

Jesus replied, “You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote, These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. (Mark 7:6)

What defines a person comes from their heart, not what they say with their lips. So, today let Jesus have your heart so that He can love you the way He sees you. His love will change your perspective, and your outlook on life. He will help you to see that outward appearance is not as important as the inward desires of your heart.

Prayer:

May you be blessed today with the love of the Father, as demonstrated through the work of His Son, and empowered by the working of the Holy Spirit. For who can measure the width, length, height, and the depth of the love of God for you?

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:16-19)

    This post touched my spirit, because when I have thought of power, as a survivor of domestic violence, it meant someone who had control over other people’s lives. So, I never wanted to use the control I had over my children or my college students to mean that they do what I say or else. But, in reading this post, I realize that there is a power that is not about the ability to direct other people’s lives, but it means strength to endure and strength to believe. I will have to do some research on power that doesn’t feel the right to dominate, like the power of the Presidency. Thank you.

      Some good understanding from your comment, especially what you said about “the strength to endure and the strength to believe.” I think that is revelation from God that needs to be unpacked. As you unpack it, maybe you can share it in a post one day?
