Timely Prayer

time prayer

Things I am learning about time:

It’s important for me to use my time wisely, and not to waste it, for it is a precious gift from God. Today, I said goodbye to my dad, who passed away peacefully in his sleep. Tomorrow, the Lord may call me home. Am I ready to go, or is there still some unfinished business I need to take care of?

The day of my salvation is drawing nearer, and closer than when I first believed, according to Romans 13:11. Therefore, I need to remain awake and continue to put on the full armor of light so that I can conduct myself in a proper and honorable way. This means that God can help me to clothe myself with Him so that I don’t gratify the desires of my flesh.

God makes everything beautiful in His time, and He has set eternity in my heart, which means that even though I don’t know His intentions from beginning to end (Ecclesiastes 3:11), I can still fully trust Him. As I lean on Him, He can give me His understanding, and in due time He will help me to make sense of what I do not know.

As I reflect on God’s timing, I can see His hands at work at many stages of my life. For I believe in His providence, where He works out everything according to the good of His creation, and the glory of His name.

Prayer:

Father,

Help me to make the most of my days, for each one is a precious gift, and I don’t want to waste them. Show me how to be led by your Holy Spirit, so that I can put on the armor of your light, and not fulfill the desires of my flesh. Thank you for setting eternity in my heart where I can fully know you, and be known by you. Your timing is always perfect, and as I trust you, you will help me to make sense of things I don’t understand, for you truly know the beginning and the end. Amen.

David, I prayed this with you yesterday… It was the perfect prayer for my day since I am facing an overwhelming amount of work at present and yesterday, I wasn’t sure how I would balance it all. Guess what? Your perfect prayer was answered perfectly by our absolutely amazing God! Thank you for giving me the words when I wasn’t sure exactly how to pray! God bless you greatly!
