High Anxiety Prayer

high anxiety prayer

When your mind perceives that danger is near, and you feel that your life is at risk, then its normal to be extremely anxious. Protecting yourself becomes the most important part of your survival, as you live in your safe place until the threat is gone.

For those who experience high anxiety, this scenario can be a hard thing to escape. Imagine for a moment what it must be like to live in constant fear?

If you have ever been severely abused, then you know what its like to be afraid, as you look for ways to escape. You will develop pathways to lead you away from harm, and you will erect barricades to keep things from hurting you. As a result, denial can become your best friend, so that you can keep the danger far away.

As you become older things change. You may not actually be in any physical danger anymore, but you know on the inside that those things still bother you. So, what do you do?

Begin To Pray:

You can ask Jesus of Nazareth to give you His peace when you feel afraid. Let Him remove your burden of fear. Allow Him to calm your racing mind, and to bring reassurance to your troubled heart. You are not alone, and you don’t have to face this by yourself. He is with you, and He desires to help you.

Ask Him to come and be with you, for He desires to be your safe place. Give Him your anxious thoughts, and listen for the sound of His voice. As He speaks to you, you will be able to settle on the inside. Your body will begin to relax, and you will start enjoying His peace. Stay there with Him, and let Him comfort you.

Share your feelings with Him, for He enjoys listening to the sound of your voice. You are His sheep, and He is your Shepherd. He will take care of you, watch over you, and protect you. His desire is to provide for you, every step of the way. So lean into His presence, and rest awhile, let Him carry your burdens, and surround you with His great love. Amen.

Such a wonderful thought and so true. Jesus does care but everything in our lives and he wants to bring his peace. Thank you for helping us to understand how to reach out to him and troubling times.

    Be blessed
