Believing in Jesus Christ means that we will live, and by living and believing in Him we will never die. John 11:1-44, reminds us of the story of Lazarus. Jesus came at His appointed time to reveal more of God’s purposes. For He came not only to heal, but to show Himself as the Living One who holds the keys to death and the grave.
You perfectly fulfilled the Father’s will and purposes, even in the life of Lazarus. We would have expected you to come when you heard that Lazarus was sick. Instead, you obeyed your Heavenly Father, and you came at His appointed time. For you said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” (John 11:4)
Thank you for doing the Father’s will. You were deeply moved at the death of Lazarus, because you also truly loved Him. You were not deterred by even those who wondered why you didn’t keep this man from dying. Instead, you publicly thanked the Father for hearing you, and you called Lazarus out of his grave.
We choose to believe that you are the resurrection and the life. Thank you for listening to and obeying the Father’s will. Amen.
O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:55-57)
