The Perfect Lie

I Have No Sin

If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. (1st John 1:10)

Why is this the perfect lie?

This lie has its foundation during the time of Adam and Eve. Satan had skillfully deceived Eve by calling God a liar. Therefore, the deception from the Father of lies was already sown into the hearts of Adam and Eve. Eve quoted God’s Word, but it no longer had any authority in her life, or in her husband’s life, because they had already exchanged the truth of God for a lie.

This is the perfect lie for those who turn away from God. Sin is a slippery slope, so one lie leads to another, and the truth of God and His Word is abandoned for the sake of the pleasures of sin. One becomes wise in their own eyes, scoffs at God, and carries on in their own folly. They sell themselves out to the Father of lies, and their end is their own destruction.

The good news is that God can restore anyone who is determined to follow in their own way. Scripture says that there is a way that seems right unto man, but in the end it leads to death (Proverbs 14:12). We can be restored, if we choose to believe God, for He gives us the freedom to choose, and today we can choose life over death.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness (1st John 1:9).

Heavenly Father,

Satan’s desire is to deceive us, and to lead us astray from you, but your desire is to call us back home, and to fill us with your love. Forgive us for forsaking you, and believing Satan’s lies. Come and reveal the truth to us. Thank you that your Son, Jesus Christ, is the way, the truth, and the life, and the way back to you. We choose to repent of our sins, receive your forgiveness, and to walk in your amazing love.
