A Weary Traveler

lay down your burdens

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good — “not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne. (Matthew 11:28-29)

Are you weary from your travels? Then come and rest. Sit down on the bench that is provided for you. Did you know that Jesus promises you rest? Yes, real rest. For he knows that you are tired, and He wants to refresh your soul. He doesn’t ask anything of you. Just let Him to come you. Let Him draw near to you, so that He can comfort you, for He knows that you are weary. Give Him the opportunity to take care of you. As you rest, think about the verses above. Let Him bring you His peace. Let Him calm your anxious heart. Let Him restore your soul. This is a safe place, and you can stay here as long as you desire. Be blessed in your stay, and be blessed in your travels.
