God wants all people to be saved, and come to a knowledge of the truth. The truth is that there is one God, and the mediator between God and man is Jesus Christ, who came to pay the ransom for our sin, so that we can be fully restored into a right relationship with God. So, let’s be reconciled with Him by believing in Jesus Christ.
Thank you for convicting us of our sin. “For we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). There is no one who is righteous, no not one, and our own desire to justify ourselves before God is like filthy rags in His sight. For we have not done right in His sight, and we have not remembered His ways (Isaiah 64:5-6)
I pray that you would convince us of our need for Jesus. For God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). The reason God sent His Son, is so that by believing in Him we would not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16), and this life is found in His Son.
May you also remind us of the judgement to come. We will all give an account to Jesus who is our righteous Judge. God has exalted Jesus to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11).
Holy Spirit, may you also lead us into all truth, for you are the Spirit of Truth. As we trust in Jesus, let your fruit of love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control be made evident in our lives (Galatians 5:22-23). Thank you Holy Spirit for the work that you do in our lives. We are most grateful. Amen.
