Good Morning Prayer

good morning prayer

The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day (Proverbs 4:18).

Good Morning Father,

Today, I want to give you these first few moments of the morning to simply enjoy your presence. Quiet my heart and still my mind, so that I can hear your voice, and call upon your name. Show me in your Word what you are considering, so that I may listen for your direction, and be encouraged to follow your lead throughout the day.

Come and satisfy me with your faithful love so that I may shout for joy and be glad all my days (Psalm 90:14). Your love is great towards me (Psalm 86:13), so I take this time to receive your love once again. Your faithful love never ends, and your mercies never cease. Great is your faithfulness, for your mercies begin afresh every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Throughout this day, may you drive out every ungodly fear within me, so that I may know your perfect love. May I submit every anxious thought to you, so that I may know how well you guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Even if I become afraid, I request that you remove any spirit of timidity, and give me your spirit of love, power, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

As I seek your direction and understanding, please generously provide me with your wisdom (James 1:5). I look to you, Father, as Jesus looked to you. I want to know what is on your heart. May I see what you are doing, and do likewise. Allow me to pay close attention to what you are saying, and to respond faithfully to your voice.

As I begin this new day, I look forward to seeing you, hearing from you, and enjoying every moment with you. If I forget that you are with me, then remind me that you go before me, never to leave me nor forsake me. Thank you for always being with me. I love you for your constant care and attention to every detail of my life.

Much love always,

Your Son / Your Daughter

Amen.
